So I discovered that Firefox 39 doesn't show borders on inputs (but seems to on other things). I saw there was a bug in bugzilla that is supposed to be fixed in Firefox 42. I just installed the Firefox Developer edition and it's not showing things in high contrast mode.

    even after refreshing ?

I had noticed that borders on inputs problem and figured it was one of my add-ons acting up. Good to know it's a filed bug.
  6. powrsurg
    13:28
    Yeah, even after refreshing
  7. powrsurg
    13:28
I've been in high contrast mode for a day
  8. StommePoes
    13:28
    hm
  9. powrsurg
    13:28
border-style: solid doesn't show them, but inset does
  10. StommePoes
    13:28
suggests that the highcontrast is maybe "drawing" over the borders?
  11. StommePoes
    13:28
Is this also true if, in css, you change the box model?
  12. StommePoes
    13:28
    Just curious

    13:29
I dont' have windows on me today
  14. powrsurg
    13:36
Turning high contrast on and off and then refreshing didn't change in Firefox Dev edition
  15. StommePoes
    13:38
ug, I can't read the quote in comment #26 unless I open developer tools in Chromium

Damn, Firefox and IE aren't converting the black text in my SVG on our site when in high contrast mode, like how it converts the black text in the page

[Karl Groves, a11y] Anyone know of an accessible competitor to Intercom.io?

So my co-worker just put on high contrast mode with the magnifying glass on and windows just flaked out
  19. powrsurg
    15:50
inverting color (from the magnifier glass) then turn it sideways causes windows 7 to draw badly

[Jordan Scales, a11y] so twitter has a neat feature now where you can hover over a username and get a tooltip with some user info (and a follow button). this tooltip doesn’t show up on focus though - is that generally a no-no? or would the tooltip just be confusing
  31. zakim-robot
    19:36
[Brian Kardell, a11y] @jdan native tooltips (like title) dont show up on focus either right? I feel like that should be so standard by now but I see variants all the time
  32. zakim-robot
    20:33
[Marcy Sutton, a11y] @jdan definitely could be confusing if focus was sent into the popup on focus. But there should be some affordance to perform the same actions from the keyboard, in the case of the follow button.

[Cordelia McGee-Tubb, a11y] ^ would be neat if focus went into the popup after some time delay, though figuring out that delay is tricky — has to be long enough that focus doesn’t immediately move into popup every time the focus on the username, but short enough that it’s discoverable
