    hello Mikael !

    Apr 13 08:30
    @powrsurg it would be nice if the images could grow and stay crisp, but that's just not possible.
  7. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 08:31
    unless there's already a higher-rez version of the image... most of the web has a single rez of any image

    Hey can anyone find a news story from a few months ago (januari) where supposedly 11 Deaf people told an airline they were coming and were greeted with 11 wheelchairs? Since I can't find anything outside of reddit, I'm thinking it's fake, and maybe a response to Jet Blue pilot kicking off 11 Deaf people because "they didn't have a carer with them"

    Can only find shitty, shitty image that doesn't prove anything, cannot find the actual story: http://i.imgur.com/oxYhuXJ.jpg

    yup, that's the sole image I find anywhere

    What's the preference here for mocking code? Codepen, JSbin?
  14. Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Apr 13 08:58
    Jsbin has better a11y
  15. Job van Achterberg
    @jkva
    Apr 13 08:58
    So I've heard
  16. Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Apr 13 09:05
    I still use CodePen, but have moved more and more to local files.
  17. Job van Achterberg
    @jkva
    Apr 13 09:06
    Yeah, will need to share with the team often, but could just do that on some dev box
  18. Job van Achterberg
    @jkva
    Apr 13 09:06
    Gotta see if codepen's features are worth it
  19. Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Apr 13 09:06
    Turns out, if you ditch sass in favour of normal CSS; local files work okay.
  20. Job van Achterberg
    @jkva
    Apr 13 09:07
    Yeah. Everyone uses sass here :-/ gonna see if we can use it only for variables and concatenation, but write vanilla selectors
  21. Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Apr 13 09:08
    Ah. Yeah, jsbin has a pro plan too. Not sure what is in it.
  22. Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Apr 13 09:08
    To be honest, I've never liked jsbin much. CodePen has community and stuff that is great.

  26. Job van Achterberg
    @jkva
    Apr 13 09:09
    Using bridges is the only option for that currently, it seems
  27. Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Apr 13 09:11
    Their IRC bridge is pretty solid.
  28. Michiel Bijl

    Hey guys, I realize this is a place for a11y, but there are amazing minds here so this will be my only non-usability question. Question: Angular 2.0, has anyone found good learning resources out there(Other than the Angular site)? I know 2.0 has some features which work well with ARIA and I would like to discuss that aspect once I have a better understanding. Help!

    @StommePoes (late reply) My question was in relation to ZoomText potentially being able to use a higher-rez image when responsive images are being used. It would make the image the user is viewing appear more crisp if it could.
  64. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:33
    There's no way for a browser to know someone is running zoomtext that I know of
  65. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:33
    Just as there's no way for a browser to know if I'm black or not
  66. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:33
    The browser would have to offer the higher-rez image
  67. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:34
    and yeah does anyone make high-rez images for 10x magnification? I really, really doubt it
  68. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:34
    I don't even go higher than 10x it's become my default when I use ZT
  69. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:35
    i hate moustache. I hate sass/scss/whatever the hell new thing they're calling it
  70. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:35
    it takes a simple thing and makes it so freaking complicated so you have to go hire experts to fix this crap
  71. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:36
    the layers of files we have for something like a checkbox component is amazingly freaking huge, complex, complicated oh yeah and everyone contributing manages to mess it up because it's so freaking easy to mess up
  72. Job van Achterberg
    @jkva
    Apr 13 13:36
    alt=grandpa simpson yelling at a cloud. (In jest, of course)
  73. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:36
    suddenly, for no reason we can find, moustache renders the content of pages twice
  74. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:36
    WHY NOT 4 TIMES, MOUSTACHE?? WHY NOT 1000 TIMES???
  75. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:38
    I think my teams needs to hire based on what technology the dev knows, and not whether they know HTML or CSS, because honestly people who don't know it can't possibly break this stuff any further
  76. Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Apr 13 13:50
    Front end job interview questions should include: Do you know the <tt> element? Which of these is correct: :after or ::after
  77. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:51
    latter doesn't matter
  78. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:51
    we all use :after because we never stopped supporting old browsers
  79. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:51
    and it works everywhere
  80. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:51
    so it's become the oxford comma of css
  81. Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Apr 13 13:51
    Does matter. Latter is per spec.

  83. Michiel Bijl

  84. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:51
    spec needs to match the real world
  85. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:52
    or we'll just ignore it even more
  86. Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Apr 13 13:52
    IE fucking shit up again.
  87. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:52
    like, force browsers to make :after quit working

  91. luis garcia

    Apr 13 13:53
    So, Mr. President; what is your position on longdesc?
  92. Michiel Bijl
    @MichielBijl
    Apr 13 13:53
    Pfff, longdesc, the US government is more likely to release the 508 refresh.
  93. Mallory
    @StommePoes
    Apr 13 13:53
    longdesc is hidden from users except those privileged behind a screen reader so kill it with fire or make it visible and usable for the rest of us. the end
  94. Mallory
    @StommePoes
