@vdurhhe, QT doesn't record system audio. And I suspect it tries to filter anything that goes over the internal speakers. I usually record using my external speakers.
  2. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 00:38
But I guess internal should work too.

[kevinchao89] I use ScreenFlow that captures System Audio. VO is crystal clear and no background noise

I've recorded numerous videos with Quicktime capturing the audio from my MBP's speakers and it's fine. Just find a quiet room, crank the volume, and go for it. Once you're done CMD+T opens the Trim menu and you can edit the video to chop off the beginning and end.
  7. I present to you, Tommy Edison being considered 'bizarre' for his drawing video. From a Dutch news website.
  8. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 10:38
    Yeah, the Dutch suck…
  9. Naah, it's just low-brow news website
  10. doesn't represent us all, just like Trump doesn't represent all Americans
  11. Or Gouda represents all cheese
  12. mmm cheese
  13. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 10:39
    Called it :P
  14. What?
  15. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 10:40
That should've gone right after my last sentence.
  16. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 10:40
My TunnelBear was stuck in its tunnel I guess.
  17. StommePoes
    Mar 17 14:25
Hey guys, I'm looking here http://www.w3.org/TR/html5/text-level-semantics.html#the-a-element to try to find if an anchor has a "summary" attribute
  18. StommePoes
    Mar 17 14:25
Which I've never heard of before
  19. StommePoes
    Mar 17 14:25
    only tables
  20. StommePoes
    Mar 17 14:25
but, is this link up to date?
  21. garcialo
    Mar 17 14:42
This from the working draft doesn't list summary as a permitted attribute http://w3c.github.io/html-reference/a.html#a
  22. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 14:42

[karlgroves] >Or Gouda represents all cheese

Bite your tongue! Especially if it is aged a long time!

  23. That was my point, no?
  24. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 14:44
[karlgroves] IDK, you lost me at Gouda
  25. StommePoes
    Mar 17 14:46
Foo, I think whoever made our accessibility courses made a little messup then
  26. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 14:49
[karlgroves] Yeah, summary has only ever been valid on table
  27. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 15:13
According to my girlfriend, all Dutch cheese sucks.
  28. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 15:13

  29. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 15:50
    [marcysutton] OMG WHATTTT
  30. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 15:52

  31. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 15:57
[dean] hahah were you escorted out afterwards?
  32. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 16:01
[marcysutton] I think I skipped out like a little kid with a hunk of cheese in my grip
  33. @MichielBijl clearly your girlfriend has not tasted the locally made cheese from my hometown area. That stuff is so good. salivates
  34. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 16:09
@Marcy the face of that guy in the background is priceless :P
  35. .oO(...tourists)
  36. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 16:10
In any case, that looks like a normal table of cheese to me.
  37. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 16:10
I thought Gouda was only like the big red things.
  38. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 16:11
[marcysutton] That table was sent to me from the cheese gods
  39. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 16:14

  42. Free stroopwafel with every businesscard ;)
  43. Of course, stroopwafels are also from Gouda city
  44. garcialo
    Mar 17 16:17
So who all is going to be at CSUN next week? Probably not enough time to have a Gitter Meetup, but would be nice to know who to be looking out for.
  45. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 16:17
I don't much about cheese; to me it's not Gouda, just cheese you know.
  46. MichielBijl
    Mar 17 16:18
    So a Gitup?
  47. @garcialo : @MichielBijl , @StommePoes , Yours truly, I can speak for

    Mar 17 17:44
[hmig] question - has anyone else noticed that narrator doesn’t like the desc in an svg?
  67. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:45
    [hmig] example: https://jsbin.com/zavobik
  68. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:45
[marcysutton] it’s entirely possible, <title> didn’t work in Chrome
  69. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:46
[hmig] ...not sure if it’s because of multiple values in aria-labelledby or the desc value
  70. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:46
[marcysutton] You might try aria-describedby instead
  71. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:46
[hmig] it’s the only one that won’t read it
  72. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:47
    [marcysutton] and/or file a bug
  73. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:47
[hmig] trying to figure out the issue before I file the bug
  74. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:47
    [hmig] ;)
  75. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:47
[marcysutton] Also that SVG cat is adorable (cat emoji)
  76. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:47
    [hmig] awe, thx
  77. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:47
    [hmig] took me forever
  78. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:51
    [hmig] no dice with 'aria-describedby'
  79. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:52
    [hmig] it must ignore <desc>
  80. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 17:53
    [hmig] filing a bug now
  81. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 19:23
[ellyjones] svg <title> should work in Chrome
  82. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 19:23
[ellyjones] do you have a test page?
  83. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 19:23
    [ellyjones] @marcysutton ^
  84. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 19:24
[marcysutton] Yep, test page and bug report. This has been fixed, but wasn’t in the last mainstream build I tried https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=566252&colspec=ID%20Pri%20M%20Stars%20ReleaseBlock%20Cr%20Status%20Owner%20Summary%20OS%20Modified
  85. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 19:24
[marcysutton] Ahh ha! You were the one that fixed it!
  86. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 19:25
    [marcysutton] =D
  87. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 19:28
    [ellyjones] that's why I was worried :)
  88. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 19:29
[ellyjones] when Chrome 49 goes to stable, it'll be in that (so it should be in current Beta)
  89. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 19:30
[ellyjones] I think, anyway... maybe I missed the branch and it'll be in 50 instead
  90. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 19:30
    [ellyjones] anyway, phew :)
  91. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 19:43
[ellyjones] @hmig what's the number of the bug you filed?

    Mar 17 20:07
Anyone familiar with this project: https://timeline.knightlab.com/ ? Is it accessible?
  93. jnurthen
    Mar 17 22:23
@sophieschoice I couldn't operate https://timeline.knightlab.com/examples/user-interface/index.html using the keyboard so my guess is not a lot of thought has been done with respect to accessibility
  94. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 22:24
[karlgroves] It is basically DIV soup
  95. jnurthen
    Mar 17 22:24
    i imagined it would be
  96. jnurthen
    Mar 17 22:31
our timeline accepts keyboard focus and will read out the time and text to a screen reader. I do need to log a bug on the "precision" of the time being voiced though. Not sure a screen reader user really cares about the time of day when the time axis is only being shown at the week level - http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/jet/uiComponents-timeline-basicTimeline.html

  99. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 23:10
    [karlgroves] Totes.
  100. jnurthen
    Mar 17 23:10
    or consult a lawyer ;)
  101. zakim-robot
    Mar 17 23:15
[karlgroves] I already owe enough money to lawyers
  102. jnurthen
    Mar 17 23:19
they are expensive .... and the only answer they ever give is... well it depends
