Does anybody happen to have a good resource on how browsers limit background tabs (especially when opening in background tabs)? Every once in a while I run into frankenbugs that only seem to happen when opening a page in a background tab but I'm not even sure how to approach debugging.
in JAWS I've gotten stuck in a mode where my arrows scroll the browser and my quick keys only announce themselves, which seems to be a sort of focus mode... to get out of it, I've had to go to like PC mode and then I could go to browse mode
@StommePoes thanks! I'll give ESC a try.
I do know about focus mode (I've been "enjoying" the fact that many combinations don't switch automatically on role=application for a while now).
I don't understand the JAWS part but will learn when I get to enjoy testing JAWS ;-)
@StommePoes meh, sorry for wasting your time. I should've done more testing. I guess my problem is not the tab focus (works fine in other settings). So I guess role=application with tabindex? Will have to investigate.
oh! @StommePoes I had not understood your wisdom (hangs head in shame). Since I'm on an application, just entering browse mode will get me back in the flow. Nice!
JAWS has more than just the two, however. PC mode lets you move the mouse, built in for those situations where some naughty naughty web deverloper made something only reachable with a mouse
Orca also lets you simulate mouse clicks but I can't remmeber if you have to be able to focus on the thing first or can just be there with your virtual cursor.
