[car] @karlgroves Now that 2016 is over, will you be updating your (very useful!) lawsuits table?
    http://www.karlgroves.com/2011/11/15/list-of-web-accessibility-related-litigation-and-settlements/
I like to send it to management when they need a blast of reality. ;)
If you do update, could you please add ", Updated January, 2017" to the line at the top, after "Published November 15, 2011"?

[caesar] Would it be a good idea to migrate it to Wikipedia?
  3. [caesar] With Karl's permission, of course...

[karlgroves] @car @caesar It is on Github: https://github.com/karlgroves/a11y-lawsuits

I have to update about 13 lawsuits by Carson & Lynch. Also of interest, a law firm in Miami has filed a ton of lawsuits this year that have flown under the radar. Their lawsuit against Winn-Dixie made news recently and I did some research and found they’ve been pretty prolific.

  5. [caesar] Ah... cool. So the list only includes litigation that has gone to the courts, right? If it just went to arbitration or whatever it doesn't rate a mention (otherwise the list would be a billionty times longer?)
  6. [caesar] I mention it because there was a "significant" case against one of the major supermarket chains in Australia, Coles, brought by a private citizen, but it settled out of court
  7. [karlgroves] Yes(ish). It only includes things that are public knowledge. So, for instance, the settlements handled by Lainey Feingold and announced on her site. Or done by the DOJ’s Project Civic Access, which are also settled out of court but announced on their site
  8. [karlgroves] I’m aware of piles more but can’t share them because of NDAs.
  9. [caesar] Here's the details - what would constitute a suitable source?
  10. [karlgroves] Anything is a good source if they’re generally considered reliable. I try to link to the actual announcements. Unfortunately the NFB sometimes deletes their announcements.
  11. [karlgroves] And news websites delete stories or rearchitect their URLs and the URLs go dead.

[caesar] Cool. I'm not terribly familiar with coding so have submitted it as an issue in github. Thanks!
  13. [karlgroves] cool

[car] Awesome, Karl - thanks! I opened an issue for my little request for the "updated" date. :) If I know of any public lawsuits that aren't listed (unlikely, but remotely possible <g>), I'll be sure to open an issue/PR.
  15. [karlgroves] I’ve been meaning to set up the CSV to auto generate the HTML & GH Page in case anyone’s so inclined. ;)
