Need a little help, we're working on accessibility of a platform and one of the issues is the contrast of solid icons in comparison to their colour background. Should I use the same criteria as the tests done with text on WebAIM?

[alastc] @hugofroesUX_twitter Michiel provided the link, but top-line: Yes, if it is essential (no text). There is some argument about level, but if the icons are a solid 3px or more, then 3:1 should be ok. If they have fine lines (<3px) then aim for 4.5:1.

The latest IBM Checklist (just released yesterday) now covers 508 Refresh.
My bad for thinking it was available earlier.
    Here's the link: http://www-03.ibm.com/able/guidelines/ci162/accessibility_checklist.html
It's still a mix of WCAG and 508, and now even has a bit of EN 301 549. :)

Interesting question posed by PPK in part 1 of his native form validation series ( https://medium.com/samsung-internet-dev/native-form-validation-part-1-bf8e35099f1d ): Also, if fieldsets that contain invalid fields can be invalid, and if forms that contain invalid fields can be invalid, why can’t labels that contain invalid fields be invalid?
