[@@Add description@@]
To ensure that those who use the W3C Logos are able to reproduce them correctly, this document contains information about the colors, fonts, and dimensions used to create the them. It also describes the intended use of the full W3C Logo and the Standalone Logo.
See also the public Logo and Icon Usage Policy and team-only W3C Logos + Icons (both current and historical)

The W3C logo was designed to be on a white background; avoid other background colors.
On occasions, the W3C logo is to have a transparent background and should "float". Instances include where the background is a color other than white (i.e. pages on the W3C website which use a specific style sheet or background image).
In the case where there is no alternative other than printing on a colored background, and printing more than 2 colors is possible, put a white border around the logo, with enough white space to balance the logo. Under no circumstances should the void caused by the abstract "C" in the logo be truncated at the top.
The font in the W3C logo is Base Twelve Sans from Emigre Graphics.
In print materials, we recommend Gill Sans and Gill Sans Bold from Adobe Systems. Walbaum may be used for a second font. Times Roman may be substituted for Walbaum.
There was a decision taken in March 2017 to change the font of the WAI and W3C website to Noto Sans.
[Note from Tanya: the fonts I've consistently used in the past year for both print + graphics have been Lato, Roboto, and Montserrat.]
We use different "W3C blues" on the Web and in print; see below for values and notes from IJ on colors and formats.

Notes from Fabrice/Marie/IJ discussion (Oct 2007):
This is one of the better descriptions of color usage in brand identity; Texas Tech's Identity suites are the best XHTML materials Janet has seen.
