Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are machine-readable and authenticated conveyers of product-related information. They are currently being introduced in various industries as voluntary initiatives and through regulatory obligations, e.g. in the European Union. This document aims to provide guidance on the implementation of DPPs based on Verifiable Credentials (VCs). Its goal is to support the further exploration of the usefulness of VCs in DPP use cases and the specific role of Verifiable Presentations in this context. The longer-term goal is to understand how the evolving work around VC standardisation can further support this cross-border data sharing use case.
