Sign language is available for prerecorded audio

The rule checks that sign language interpretation using the most appropriate regional sign language is available for prerecorded audio content.

Applicability

This rule applies to audio-only content or video content containing audio. It does not apply to audio content that is an alternative for visual content and clearly labelled as such. It does not apply to decorative background sound. It does not apply to interface sound effects.

Expectation

Each test target includes sign language interpretation.

Passed example 1

A piece of audio-only content is accompanied by a nearby video that provides sign language interpretation.

Sign language interpretation is part of the source video either because an interpreter is present in the recording or because the interpretation is provided as a hard-coded picture-in-picture.
