[car] Until that's posted, here's some things you can do:
    Read the doc: http://w3c.github.io/aria-practices/
Add issues when you see them: https://github.com/w3c/aria-practices/issues
Maybe even fork the repo and submit some pull requests: https://help.github.com/articles/fork-a-repo/

[fionaholder] I was attempting to kick start the Stack Overflow accessibility documentation, but not really getting anywhere as it seems to require approval by a few others and nobodys looking right now

[michiel] caesar, you can file issues, code examples of widgets in the guide, tell us about ideas, comment on keyboard support stuff, stalk me on here, suggest new patterns, uhm, something else?

[simong] Does anyone know of a service/company who can assist in detecting seizure inducing pictures/video clips?

[simong] We’re building some tooling to detect flashes in animated gifs and scenes and we’re getting some reasonable results, but also some things that seem fairly harmless
  12. [simong] It’d be good to run some of those potential false positives by an expert and get some guidance on how to deal with those

[chris.alatorre] does the best practice of Providing a non-animated equivalent or method to step through animation include opacity transitions?

[jhausler] @simong i wonder if someone at teh BBC can help with that. I’ve seen warnings on videos of press conferences with lots of photo flashes. Before you click the play button, there’s an advisory message about the flashing. Not sure if htey automate this, or if it’s manually added.
  20. [simong] @jhausler that sounds like a good lead, do you know anyone there I could get in touch with?
  21. [jhausler] i do not, sorry. there was a lady from the BBC who gave a few talks at CSUN last March. Maybe do a search on the schedule site?

[pstonier] so, is 508 refresh going to essentially be the same as WCAG 2? @karlgroves
  26. [karlgroves] @pstonier They will “Incorporate by Reference” - IOW they point to WCAG and say “use this"
  27. [pstonier] ah
  28. [pstonier] so, essentially it won’t match completely, but they’ll pick parts from it?
  29. [karlgroves] No. They’re saying “Use WCAG"
  30. zakim-robot
    @zakim-robot
    Sep 16 19:11
[karlgroves] E205.4; E207.2 and other places refer to WCAG as well

[karlgroves] One of the things to keep in mind about 508 is that its purpose is to describe the US Federal Government’s approach toward eliminating discrimination against PWDs in the procurement and deployment of ICT.

IOW it defines how to buy ICT that is accessible and defines what standards are used to define what “accessible” means.

Incorporating by Reference allows them to point to existing independently developed standards, rather than defining their own standards.
