I was forced, against my will, to make a carousel http://www.stommepoes.nl/Cloudsuite/
  3. under "Cases"
  4. Instead of dots, the company names at the top do pretty much the same thing.
  5. HTML-wise, the "dots" (company names) are in-page skip links to the case about that company (which is a "panel" or a li in a second list). Jumping to it (without Javascript) is equiv to moving it into view (with Javascript).
  6. I would probably write it somewhat different today, but it's not so different from the majority of the "accessible" carousels I had seen before
  7. Question: someone wants to add and remove list items in a list, which contain various error messages. Initially, the developer had a <span> with <li role="alert">the alert</li> and I said "list items must be in a list". Now we have ul role="alert". I'm pretty sure this is overriding the ul's list role.
  8. My best guess idea is for the dev to add a div to wrap around the list and put the role on that div.
  9. additionally, there is text and a button in those alerts (so I'm trying to find out if they really mean "alert" or "alertdialog" since, how does the user get to that button with just "alert" role?), and I'm hearing those read out but not the other text in most browser/AT combos. I'm really hoping the roles being on bad elements is the cause of that, and not the fact that there are buttons/focusables inside that's causing it.

So I just saw a tweet from TPG about a Buffalo meetup tonight. That was the first I've heard of it. I'm actually from Rochester (about an hour or so away) and would like to attend if there are future ones (and if it wasn't so early as I can't get to Buffalo in time coming from my work).
