[skymaiden] @higley @techthomas Thank you for your feedback! I didn't know about aria-readonly, or that you shouldn't change roles dynamically

[geertmelotte] Hello, I need to implement an autocomplete and I am looking for WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices concerning this widget. The latest don’t mention an autocomplete specifically. Do the old guidelines still apply?

[skymaiden] Hi again folks! Quick question: do you think it might be helpful to add (opens in a new window) at the end of the aria-label on links/buttons that open new windows?
  4. [skymaiden] (it's for an application that's often embedded as an iFrame)
  5. [tyronem] absolutely. We’re recommending that to a client now. (as long as that aria-label doesn’t stop screen readers from reading the link text)

[skymaiden] oh you're right @tyronem I forgot that screen readers might read the label instead of the text content (voiceover is doing that)

[tyronem] Yep. I had the same issue.

[garcialo] Wait, is adding aria-label to links something people are doing now? Doesn’t that conflict with the link text?

Has anyone had contact with webaim to determine if there will be a survey? The last one was completed in 2015 and I'm curious to know what is the current status of screenreader use and if mobile (Voiceover & Talkback) have taken over a major portion of the market.

[bethra] @marcysutton or anyone else who knows... what documentation, if any, is out there explaining how to code accessible Angular 4?

[marcysutton] I don't know of anything. Sadly the a11y cookbook they had Almero Steyn work on never got merged.

[marcysutton] I posted it in the Angular team Slack, sounds like they'll work more on that kind of stuff once they release the new Angular.io site.

[ted_drake] Google announced their visual positioning service last week. This is using Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence to map indoor and outdoor spaces and using your device’s camera to detect objects and provide indoor navigation. This has great potential for popular spaces. http://phandroid.com/2017/05/17/google-visual-positioning-service/
