Luc Audrain: we have 2/3 of the money
… we are still lacking $50,000
… we are launching individual emails to people who have not contributed
… with George we have tried to contact Apple through dsinger
… and we have answered dsinger’s questions

… and presented at the general assembly of federation of European publishers
George Kerscher: I’ve been in contact with Apple; Tzviya and Avneesh will see dsinger at AB meeting
Luc Audrain: we are pushing everywhere
… but no money so far
… none from France except HL
Liisa McCloy-Kelley: people don’t understand why they have to give money
… I’m hearing feedback that people aren’t quite sure why they are contributing since 4.2.2 is already out
… this next phase need to be more explained

Liisa McCloy-Kelley: on Tuesday, Daihei let the Japanese publishers comment frankly in Japanese
… Daihei is working on it with Japanese publishers
Luc Audrain: is there some effort to communicate about this in every country
George Kerscher: the AAP ?

Liisa McCloy-Kelley: the AAP may be able to reach for American publishers
… focused on copyright and legal issues
… not on standard and tech

Luc Audrain: people have to know that to sell ebooks in Europe, the ebooks must be accessible
… how does this relate to epubcheck? An epub needs to be valid before it’s accessible

George Kerscher: IBM distributes all their publications as EPUB, I will take an action item to try to find the right person at IBM to ask them to contribute to EPUBCheck. The person I will approach is Phil Jenkins.

… virtual host service GoDaddy for years
… godaddy shut down the service in September
… some warning and I created a backup
… rehosted on a W3C machine
… working to create the virtual machine on W3C host
… that process much delayed

… if the recreation service has issues still next week, a temporary solution
